St. Augustine’s conception of evil is predicated on the deprivation of goodness.

Death is evil because it is a lack of life.

Illness is evil because it lacks health.

Things that are evil cannot truly "create," because evil has no substance of it's own to create with.

Evil creates corruption or perversion of something that already existed, and was good.

evil is a purely subjective value judgement. However, the processes that lead to these subjective results are in fact objective.
