I discussed it with Mum, she says from her experience:
- There are more women than men
- There are hardly any attractive (HTN+) men at these events
- The women tend to stick with each other
- The men tend to use these events to hit on the women
- You have to talk to people you know and don't like
- She felt drained and never returned after a few events (this was in the early 1990s during when she was seeing my dad)
- Networking events at the time were very very white
- She (MTB) eventually met my Arab dad (chadlite in prime) through a black Caribbean friend
- Most were subhuman-weak MTB women doing wet labs, nurses and junior docs, overweight or skinny, but mostly overweight, no in-between
- The best looking woman was a mid tier MTB
- Most of the women stuck with each other
- Most men were subhuman-LTN and tried to hit on the women (unsurprisingly the women ignored them)
- I went in the event, and a few women were surprisingly very friendly to me, a couple were being a little flirty (though I told them I'm a Muslim and wasn't interested)
- Despite saying this they were still very eager to "network" with me. I forgot about them after the event. They were NPCs.
- Their idea of "networking" was asking for coffee. I'm only interested in Muslim women, and the girl I'm talking to (and am very inclined to making my halal GF, possibly even wife) is Muslim.
- The oofies were pretty standoffish with me even though I was being very nice.
- I left the event after 20 minutes as it was boring. I never went back to a networking event since.
