The US census ethnic/racial categories are so fucking stupid

Asian = refers to anyone living in Asia, includes different races/ethnicities
Hispanic = refers to anyone who comes from a Spanish-speaking country, whether they're a Spaniard or a Peruvian
Black = includes anyone that is part subsaharan African because of the retarded one-drop rule, whether they're full SSA, mulattoes or quadroons

Yeah but most "white" hispanics are mestizos/castizos.
It's still better than nothing I guess.

Would be easier if they just had East Asian, South Asian, European, Sub-Saharan African and Mixed.

thats nationality not ethnicity

They don't have the same nationality (Morales is Bolivian and Ramos is a Spaniard) but both of them would be put in the "hispanic" category.

Turks are Western Asians and most Latinos are just mixed.
You don't have many Turks in the US anyway, they could just be lumped in the "other" category.

Well some Turks are European but phenotype =/= genotype.
A brown-eyed Celt is still European while a blue-eyed Indian is still South Asian.
