The US is a hyper capitalist and hyper individualist country based around the shared values of greed, materialism, consumerism, and narcissism. Americans are also extremely selfish and have no empathy for others. Like 183 people this weekend just got shot and not a single phuck was given by the American public. In contrast, many Euro countries like Nordic countries in particular the people aren't corporate bootlickers and believe in having a strong social safety net to uplift one another.
