He would look worse with longer hair so my advice is still correct.

He would also obviously look better with a better hairline, but until he gets that sorted, shorter the better.

Fringe or curtains allows you to have longer hair if you have a wide forehead because it frauds forehead size. But those styles don’t suit everyone so it depends on the individual’s other features.
