Below I present google trends statistics showing the growth in search interest for several transgender and lgbt related topics over the past two decades.
Factors contributing to this increase are a response to changing social norms, increasing pressure from modern beauty standards growing difficulties in the dating and sexual marketplace or broader psychological factors such as "post covid depression" resulting in lloneliness and social isolation.
The data shows a clear acceleration in search interest related to transgender topics over the last several years with the most rapid growth occurring after approximately 2021–2022.
Searches for trans porn exhibit the strongest increase among the compared terms reaching close to the maximum normalized interest score of 100 by 2025-2026.
