By far without a shadow of doubt the worst food I've ever had is british food
British food is just bad. There’s no way around it. It’s bland, uninspired, and feels like it was invented by people who actively hate flavor.
Most of it is boiled, bland, or beige. You’ve got grey meats overcooked veggies dry potatoes, and weird soggy pastries that look like they’ve given up on life. A lot of British dishes seem like they were created in a world where seasoning was banned. Salt and pepper are apparently considered “exotic,” and spices.
Take the full English breakfast it’s a disaster on a plate. Beans that taste like sugar soup, eggs with the texture of rubber, toast that could cut your mouth, and black pudding, which is literally congealed pig blood passed off as a delicacy. How is this considered a national treasure?
Then there's shepherd’s pie, which could be good if it weren’t for the fact that it usually tastes like someone mashed together leftovers and prayed it would pass as a meal. I dont dislike it because it is bland that is all of northern europe anyway I dislike it because of it's texture. It is all a mush. Shepherd’s pie, Jacket Potatoes, beans. Everything is a mush. Feels like I'm eating baby food. fish and chips sounds nice in theory it's just soggy batter around dry fish and limp fries drowning in vinegar.
The only dishes that I like is maybe beef wellington which does taste good if done well but british food is just depressing. It is like they looked at someone food and thought how can we make this as bland as possible. Overall british food is not for me
