We grew up in different sides of Poland, I never really had physical punishments, it was always just losing access to something or being forced to clean the entire house if it was severe

Not surprised, men back then were a lot more masculine and put-together, physical punishment is good but not when it's done in excess, there's a fine line between beating someone into place and beating someone into a traumatized sissy who can't work for a couple hours without having a panick attack

Mom screaming inches away from my face for hours for no clear reason while saying "I've never had anyone be this rude to me" "I've never had anyone treat me this way" etc. Impossible to argue with, just screaming hysterically. This happened over and over again after my parents divorced. My brother never got anything like it, just me. Makes my stomach turn just thinking about it.
