Humanity always spiraled through the same cycle of building up, getting comfortable, overly soft, and at some point it all burns down. What I've noticed from looking at the time spans in between cycles is that each one gets shorter. Each collapse occurs faster than the last and we are at a point in the cycle where we're about to do it to ourselves all over again.
All this comfort we've created for ourselves has gotten us to a point so far beyond what humanity could have imagined for technological advancement, we're genuinely long overdue for an already inevitable crash. No we're not going to get to enjoy our ai girlfriends once they become real for long, everything will burn down. My theory is that if a certain chain of events happens within the next decade, our current generation could witness a beginning of the end to everything.
Another thing I've noticed is that women begin having sex with men much below their previous standards out of desperation. Unfortunately the cycle repeats itself, only with less selection and hypergamy rises to an all time high faster and more hopeless every time as seen throughout history. The gap between resets will begin shrinking so much that our society becomes chaos of repeating self destruction events and resource depletion, with degeneracy much worse than what we see today, all before collapsing again and repeating until inevitable extinction.
I genuinely believe some form of domino effect event will be taking place within at most 10 years from now, and statistically we're literally living in the beginning of the end for humanity. Honestly can't imagine how much worse the next hypergamy phase will even look like, I'd guess that maybe 30-40% of men will even be dating at all, although anything could happen.
