So we know that growth plates fuse, when growth plates fuse they turn into bone and cannot be turned back into cartilage again. After that our body can not physically grow longer.
But in theory if we take a human and and inject chondrocytes (cartilage cells) and Messenchymal stem cells into his body we could in theory replace the bone with cartilage.
The problem is that once your growth plates fuse there is no space left between the bones so there is no place to inject the stem cells and cartilage cells.
