I've noticed a grand majority of arguments against suicide fall on "b-but things can get better!!" or "your problems aren't that bad." The first one is especially retarded because not everyone's problems will get better. Some people's problems are tied to things they cannot change about themselves (height, face, illness, etc). Telling the 5'3" sub5 with chronic illnesses that things can get better and that they just need therapy is probably close to one of the most invalidating things anyone can say.
Then there are arguments that appeal to "inherent worth." Not only is it not real, but even if it was, so what? It's not tangible, you can't observe it, you can't feel it-- you can do nothing with it. What good has "inherent worth" ever done for the person battling with depression their whole lives?
Ultimately, I don’t think there’s a single argument that’ll stop a suicidal person from killing themselves. A truly suicidal person isn’t gonna be swayed by “muh inherent worth” or “it gets better bro just suffer for who knows how much longer
” I personally don’t even think suicide is all that bad of a thing. In my opinion, for someone to truly be free, they must hold the right to take their lives as they see fit. You cannot be truly autonomous if you cannot take your own life.
Personally, the only "argument" I find somewhat compelling is the argument for hell. "Your life may be shit now but imagine how much worse it'll get when you're being sodomized by Satan for all of eternity while your recessed infras are being laughed at." Atheistically though, I don't think there's a single compelling argument or point to be made.

Also not sure if I used the right prefix for this thread but whatever
