That's a fucking HUGE amount of jeets, and boy has their presence been felt lately.
Strangely, they are almost ALL for software/programming/misc-computer jobs.
Interestingly, some of the most prolific employers of H-1Bs here are companies of indian origin. These companies universally have very vague IT-related business models, and have all set up shop here in just the past few years. These fuckers come here to suck up money somehow while creating no actual value, and of course end up importing infinity jeets in the process.
Surprisingly, the salaries that these imported workers make are not as low as people have been saying. Out of these 800+ workers, only 11 make less than 60k. The median salary is ~93k, which is much higher than the median for native-borns.
I implore you to look up the records for your own town, and the ones around you. There is a national cap of 65,000 H-1Bs per year. There is NO WAY that my smallish middle-of-nowhere town makes up such a large percentage of those. Hell, there's no way we even have 800 IT jobs here at all. This shows that there are FAR more H-1Bs coming in than are supposed to be allowed.
