I say this as a catholic. The amount of abuse protestant Rangers supporters get in Scotland is unbelievable.
It's socially acceptable to call them 'Huns' and 'Loyalist cunts' to their face and nobody will get in trouble for it. But if you call an irish catholic a 'fenian bastard' or a 'taig' you go to jail for racial and cultural discrimination.
Another problem is because of this isolation from society, the average protestant rangers fan has turned into a deformed dysgenic version of their former selves. Most people in scotland 100 years ago were protestant and rangers were an incredibly strong and powerful element of scottish society. But then the irish came over and changed this dynamic. It's one of the first ethnic displacements in the western world ever recorded.
The recent death of the queen has really opened my eyes to how fucked up a lot of catholic celtic fans are tbh. I'm not into football at all (not NT enough) but the amount of posts on instagram and facebook about how they are celebrating the death of the queen by partying etc is really disgusting.
Not a loyalist either. Like I said, im baptised catholic and grew up in a catholic household but I have a lot of sympathy for protestants now. The queen represented a bygone age of glory for the british empire and the white race. Now shes dead and rightfully a lot of protestants are upset about it.
You should look into industrial scottish history to get more information on this if you are interested. There are a lot of documentaries about the ethnic conflicts between native protestant scots and the irish migration. Rangers and Celtic football clubs were invented in order to allow these two opposing groups to let their frustrations out on the pitch rather than killing eachother.
