Are you very popular, do you have a big social circle, so you can easily afford to cut some people but still have plenty of them, who will listen to every word you say, or do you struggle to even get them your attention?
In the last case, it's just what it is, your status is low, people will disrespect you like that, cutting them off will just isolate you more, they aren't gonna come back crawling to you, to forgive them.

Lol, everyone does this these days, wherever I look people are on their phones - couples, friends, families, etc., - in bars, restaurants, parks, etc. - everyone is staring at their phones and barely talk to each other.
