before joining the forum i assumed most users here possessed a higher degree of self-awareness but that doesn’t seem to be the case
many people approach looksmaxxing in a wrong way. you cant just pour a ton of money into enhancing your appearance through surgery, height frauds, contacts and so forth and then expect to effortlessly embody a hypermasculine image that others will accept without question.

there has to be a baseline level of self awareness. if youre investing heavily in altering your appearance, often through methods culturally coded as feminine, its important to acknowledge and accept those aspects of yourself. dont be surprised or offended when others call you out on it.

personally im not trying to uphold a hypermasculine facade. people already expect me to be expressive and unconventional so im not afraid of being called out for wearing contacts or makeup, though i still try my best to keep it subtle

what i find perplexing is the contradiction in some of your attitudes. i mean you engage in activities traditionally seen as feminine, then talk about muh high t or some dumb bullshit like that. that just doesnt hold up logically.

i mean even the word looksmaxxing sounds retarded, like are we deadass? we are just repackaging what women have been doing since forever because yall are scared of coming off as slightly feminine

I get what you mean but in this space most people have entirely new ideas and meanings of what it is to be masculine. Since this forum origins traced back to PSL and lookism where the entire perfect "ideal" was to emulate the appearance of male models (what still mostly is the case in this forum too), they often approached with that added in, making the ideas of surgeries, male makeup (which very few people do here tbh), and other things considered more feminine to be seen as just the obvious to hit your "limit". As for the looksmaxxing definition, well just trying to look good itself objectively isn't necessarily a female trait no?

Look at the animal kingdom and see how some males (especially in birds) often times TRY to look the best to attract mates. It is often times the male sex doing this rather than the female sex (not a complete shift but it is a noticeable part of life that makes the idea of looking better imo not be something just intrinsically tied to masculinity or femininity.

Also, there may be an attribution bias you have here. Most of the guys who talk about being High T, BVLLs, etc. are either doing it in a joking sense or are those who ascended through looksmaxxing procedures that were permanent (like skincare, hairstyling, low bf, gymcelling, etc.). The people who did not aren't really out here talking about being a "High T West Caucasoid Mongolian Warlord General Pheno" or about mogging from my experience of being in this forum.

People who are actually high T dont give two shits about how they look or care enough to mirror the preferences of women.

no, but the things promoted here are traditionally viewed as feminine

nice comment, though feels like you kinda missed my point. the whole idea of looksmaxxing seems retarded to me, we are just repackaging what girls have been doing in a more "masculine" way because yalls masculinity is that fragile and you cant handle being perceived as feminine. really low t now that i think ab it

I mean I've already said most don't view it that way so I don't know to tell you. The thing is, most people in this space have entirely different views on the masculine and feminine so they don't really care how it is traditionally viewed as (the thing is, most people don't go to over the top with it to. You talk about makeup and stuff as if people actually do that and it's just mostly people doing skincare (sure feminine i suppose) and getting lean with many picking up roids (not really a feminine way of looking better but ok ig?).

Also, it's really just a name at the end of the day and tbh it more seems like you have a view on what users here think they're doing over what they actually may be thinking. Like this right here:

"the whole idea of looksmaxxing seems retarded to me, we are just repackaging what girls have been doing in a more "masculine" way because yalls masculinity is that fragile and you cant handle being perceived as feminine."

How do you know what these guys think about the whole idea. They could really just think that it is just a way to look better and not really care about the whole subjective dynamic you have going on (since the idea of even caring about whether it is seen as feminine in traditional societies is a very unmasculine way of thinking imo). Also, there are aspects of looksmaxxing that are different to what women usually do to make themselves look better that I've already detailed in the 1st paragraph so it's not like it's a complete repackaging. Overall though, I just think you got an idea on what the community thinks being masculine or feminine is and is now comparing it to the mainstream perception and saying that these people have fragile masculinity. Don't really see how it works like that but alright you can think like that ig

I will say that there are a section of people here who do have fragile masculinity and try to hide it off using looksmaxx terms but I don't think it's the majority.
