If you are someone who is fascinated and likes reading about philosophy, human thoughts, psychology, religion, theology do not limit yourself to just the Greek, Roman, Renaissance or Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Socrates , Thales etc

Hindu traditions from the Upanishads, Vedanta, Samkhya, and Yoga and Islamic philosophers during the golden age. Al-Farabi,Ibn Rushd all of them also deeply explored these topics and brought completely different perspectives and deep retrospective talking points to the table. The intellectual and spiritual world is far richer when you explore these profound traditions too. All you need is an open mind that isn't full of prejudices.

Islam is the last religion which preserved near Eastern metaphysics other than Jews, I think that's interesting since civilisation began in Mesopotamia and thus some of its rituals from the original civilisations survived, of course Islam deviated from these traditions because of radical monotheism but many core logic still survived. It preserved older semitic patterns like rituals, fasting, pilgrimage and legalism. Christianity was heavily influenced by Roman and Greek practices, its near Eastern core l thus became diluted. There's concepts of triune Gods, Gods impregnating virgins, and grace over works. That came from Greek and Roman metaphysics (substance, nature, person, essence, logos, mythology).

Hinduism is complex too, a patch work with some hidden gems. Early Vedic religion brought by Indo European speakers evolved into the differing philosophical schools that came much after, and Hinduism now differ so much to what India believed in much earlier that it's difficult to put the pieces together.

The philosophy in muslim texts: 9 year olds are hot
