there’s always a reason why someone becomes an addict in the first place

yet ‘they’ blame the drug and fearmonger with

“once you touch it you’re on it for life”

that’s bullshit lol

no friends
no female friends
isolated for years
ugly
short
no future prospects

what they never say is that addiction is usually the first time relief shows up

the first time the ‘noise’ shuts off

the first time someone feels calm, confident, warm, or even just normal

the drug didn’t fuck a perfect life

it filled a vacuum that was already rotting

mainstream media will never confront that because it means admitting society produces addicts

it’s easier to demonize a substance than to talk about loneliness, sexual invisibility, status failure, class ceilings, or what it does to a man to be unwanted for decades

subhumans cling to whatever gives them temporary dignity

whatever dulls the constant reminder that they don’t matter

so ‘they’ blame the drug, ban the drug, moralize the drug, anything except asking why so many people (subhumans) are desperate enough to need an escape in the first place

yea and drug addicts who are rich/succesful/good looking are always seen in a better light. a homeless person and a stockbroker could both be addicted to coke, but only the homeless man will be labelled as a failure because of his addiction
