The reason i loved reverend insanity is because the character was perfect for me.

Short summary cuz its kinda complicated.

But the character has been transferred to another reality from ancient china. He manages to live for 500 years before dying.

During this incredibly long life, he has experienced everything.

He was poor, rich, nobody, famous, a hero, a villain everything. But before his death he manages to reincarnate.

He realises that everything in life is achievable and overrated. So for his another attempt at life, he chooses the most impossible goal possible, the only goal to be worthy of having. Becomming immortal and finding a way to live for an eternity.

He is the smartest character ive ever seen.

He talks about social norms, looks, pretty women, ugly men, rich people, poor people, good people, bad people. Its basically a book where while we watch him trying to get closer to an impossible goal, he tells us secrets about life.

He doesnt abide by any morals. He only does what is best for his goals. He wont hurt a fly if thats the best way to move, or he will kill millions if thats the best way.

Nothing he does is personal and he takes nothing to heart. He doesnt believe in friends or enemies. He only does what he thinks is best for him.

Reminds me of this Chinese animation I was watching. I finished the series but apparently they were based on novels and they’re available online. I don’t have the time yet to read it but I’ll get around to it.
