I’ve always wanted to learn how to defend myself in case I ever got into a situation with someone at school, I’ve never been into a fight and the only things that could assist me in a fight is that I’m semi strong due to lifting as well as the fact I have a height advantage and stanama advantage but do you guys have any advice for actually learning how to fight like guides you could link or people you watch who can give tips?

Please let me know.

go to your local martial arts gym. and sign up for kickboxing and bjj since thats the only thing most of them offer. Its just MMA.

its not gonna be very easy. and your gonna be surprised at how bad you actually are at fighting at first.

Also watch a lot of footage of street fights and MMA fights so that you can learn which mistakes to avoid.

Thank you, I’ll look into that.

i’ll give you a tip, everyone says when you’re in a fight everything “slows down” and it feels like you’re in slow motion

it’s actually the opposite, everything speeds up and feels fast asf especially in a street fight

Just buy a gun or knife, don’t forget to get certified, or you could just run, that’s the first natural instinct of the human body

As someone said enlist in a boxing gym first, before any other martial arts gym, because boxing teaches you the pillars of fighting and stance work, after getting familiar with these techniques you can then go to an mma gym

but my most important tip is; Get hit, get hit a lot. you will only truly learn when you desperately don’t want to get hit lmao, Attacking and defending are two whole different techniques, Attacking is easy to learn without any burdensome training, but the latter can’t be learned without a bit of pain

Iam of course not telling you to get full force hit, only get hit by love taps when you start, increase the strength as you progress

Never fought in your entire life:lul:

If you are stronger than the other person even if he has experience in martial arts you're gonna beat them

I’m 15 so I haven’t been around that long lol
I used to fight alot around your age
When you get into fights you just throw hands
And cannot think properly
strength is the key to winning fights Going to martial arts helps but not by making you stronger but by desensitizing you from fighting

You have to do sparring. Do it with the strongest looking person. You will get hit a lot and thats good so u get used to it. Also ask the people in ur mma/boxing (or anything else related to martial arts) club for help. So they can help you in personal.
For street fights I would avoid high kicks or things like that. In a real fight everyone just throws punches ngl

"muh throw hands"

I wrestled for 5 years, any good grappler would slam you headfirst on the concrete little nigglet

Shadowboxing

In a real fight people throw punches, miss, and clinch up and end up on the ground.

Learn how to fucking grapple

just use your elbows and knees a lot, also go for weak points like eyes or balls.
there is no such thing as honor that you could lose in a real fight, dont be scared to use "dirty" techniques.
your only priority should be to get out there with minimal damage taken.
a popular combo is to go for a punch in the balls with the right, then grab the neck with the left and elbow to the head with the right.
if you ask your opponent a random question mid fight, they will be confused and they will loosen their jaw muscles, giving an optimal opportunity to knock them out.
apart from that you can just practice with a friend or go to fight/mma gym.
good luck if you should ever get into a fight
