It’s odd because early European explorers commented that animals were treated better in China and India whilst the west treated them poorly especially when it came to slaughter. Now China has become a much more carnivorous nation while the west generally has become more plane based.

I believe even hinduim at first was a monotheism and there were figures in the 15th century and later to try to bring it back. Most religions have become devoided ngl of their former meaning.

Indeed tbh you’re right but even in Abrahamic religions there is a lot of vegetarianism. Israel for example is seen as the most plane based country in the world alongside India. I wonder if that’s because of religion and ethics or just the local cuisine. Mediterranean food is generally plant based
