You know users tend to write whatever gets them more reps.
And by default funny content will rep more through the use of the emoji "

Actual valuable content usually gets the repped with ""
Knowing this, if you changed the value of "" to higher value than "1 rep" users would be incentivized to post higher quality content.
By higher than "1" I mean "1,x" (e.g.: 1,2 ; 1,5) or even 2.
To avoid decimals, you would get an additional rep for each:
5 reps if 1,2
2 reps if 1,5
I truly believe this would have the desired effect, people would be more incentivized to post good advice and good threads.
