instincts by definition are innate, fixed patterns of behavior in response to certain stimuli, i can see how u might think its learnt tho, but how can a human be thought instincts like 'fight or flight', i dont think behaviours like that come from the sky, it is likely a pattern that turned instinct

When you say "instincts by definition are innate, fixed patterns of behavior" you're actually conceding my point. You then immediately contradict yourself by admitting "depending on the person's physiology, environment and needs, they can employ certain instincts more than others." That's exactly what I was saying. The biological baseline like fight/flight is just hardware, what actually governs behavior is which instincts get amplified or suppressed by environment.

The very capacity to choose to reverse conditioning is itself a conditioned trait, it requires exposure to frameworks that make self-reflection even possible in the first place. Someone raised in an environment that never models critical thinking doesn't just spontaneously develop it. The ability to "reverse conditioning" is handed to you by your environment before you ever exercise it. You're using a conditioned tool to argue against conditioning.

The reason you can't trust pure instinct is because you don't actually know who you are yet, it's the default human condition. Identity isn't something you're born with, it's assembled over time from everything your environment feeds you. Family, culture, social rejection, online communities, all of it layers on top of whatever biological baseline exists. So when you act on "instinct," you're not accessing your pure self, you're accessing a self that was built for you before you had the awareness to question it and understand it, hence my point is valid.

Morals follow the same logic. You didn't arrive here with a moral code hardwired in. You were handed one. Parents, religion, school, peers. At some point it becomes so internalized it feels like it comes from the inside. That's exactly what makes conditioning so invisible, it doesn't feel like conditioning.

The deeper issue is that instinct, in the way most people use it, is often just a defense mechanism. When someone says they hate people, hate the world, don't need anyone, that's not instinct speaking, that's a view made to avoid a more painful truth. The real issue is usually feeling different, excluded, or misunderstood, and instead of sitting with that vulnerability you converted it into contempt. Contempt feels stronger than longing, so the instinct to protect yourself from pain gets internalized as a worldview.

And that's why self reflection matters more than instinct here. Until you can separate what you actually feel from what you've been conditioned to feel, and separate disinterest from withdrawal, you're not acting from instinct.

Therefore, you have to concede now. You cannot rely on your spoon fed instincts. You have been logically molested.
