People's brains weren't completely burnt out from nonstop entertainment and stimulation. Women didn't have unlimited choices.
Have you ever met a woman and you're like "Wow, she's so unique. She's her very own person!" But then you later find out that you just weren't aware of the thing that she was tapping into and nothing about her was original at all? Like I remember I met this girl who had "stick and poke" tattoos, and it was so cool and charming, but then it turns out it's just some lame hipster/tumblr trend. Anyway, before the internet, everyone seemed that way, seemed like individuals, real people. Now we're all just abstractions.
