If you want to have a similar style but isn’t mascara put a bit of olive oil on your eyelashes, it promotes growth but also makes them look shiny and thick

Yes I've tried both. Mascara looks ok far away but close up you can see the patchiness. I would recommend only using eyebrow curlers. Looks natural and works great.
