- Homicides in Mexico during 2019: 36.000 deaths.
- Homicides in Brazil during 2019: 41.000-42.000 deaths
- Homicides in Colombia during 2019: 10.000 deaths
- Homocides in Venezuela during 2019: 16.000 deaths
Now, let's see deaths of the Afghan War since 2001, which, as we know, is constantly covered by the media and certain powers have desperately tried to sell us that they do it because of "Democratic values, human rights, women's rights", etc
- Civilians deaths in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2021: 35.000 to 40.000 casualties during the course of 20 years (Similar to Mexico in just one year)
- Total death toll including combatants from 2001 to 2021: About 241.000 casualties during the course of 20 years
There is a clear double standard as we can witness, the difference between Afghanistan and those South American lands is that, first, the vast majority of those homicides in South America are because of the constant drug trafficking bussiness, which is something that in the face of the public sphere a goverment cannot promote, but on the other hand it is something of great interest for such political spheres, entities and powers since it is one of the biggest money makers in the planet, so of course you won't see on TV too much news about the deaths because of the drug trafficking, or politicians constantly pressuring for doing something about it. (If i'm not mistaken, drugs are Top 3 in regards to industries that move the most money in the planet, with petroleum and gun trafficking).
Second, it is quite evident that the position of Afghanistan is much more strategic and important right now for the interests of certain powers, it borders with direct allies and rivals of those nations.
Third, it's oil and other resources of course like Opium, for example the USA has the entire South American continent full of puppets on the goverments and can benefit easily from the drug trafficking, this was achieved via Coup d'etats and satellite wars in the 20th century promoted by the different US presidents and goverments, just google "Henry Kissinger and Latin America" or "USA and regime changes in Latin America" and you will find a chunk of information on it. On the other hand, if Afghanistan is leaded by the people (especially the Afghan people which have a strong sense of honor) the last thing in which they would usually fall is to gift themselves and their resources to what would be considered a moral enemy. As we can see, the Afghan funded goverment by the US and other powers for over 20 years was a joke, they are running away from the country after spending more than 2 trillion $ on it, it is clear that the money was destined to the exctraction and distribution of resources to those powers instead of the rebuilding of the nation's institutions, army, etc, while at the same time a decent part of that money went to US-Afghan politicians pockets to keep their mouths shut.
In definitive, just remember always the true intentions of the media, the propaganda machine and all of those institutions. These people don't care about you, your life, or your wellbeing. They don't care about people dying, all they care about is themselves and their pockets, they are sharks, not emotional beings. Perhaps you'll see them from time to time smiling with an elder on TV, but remember always what they are doing at the back of that image.
