Based on native speakers no. For example China has 1 billion speakers , spanish around 460 million.
English is spoken as a second language. Only 400 million speak it as their primary.
If we look at the trading aspect, China dominates in Asia. Arabic- middle east and north africa, and south america - spanish.
Is widely learnt tho. However much I love english ( as I myself use it on a daily basis but not my primary language) it fails to proceed these categories
