To be honest, I think it's more that the Indo-Europeans assimiliated into Turkic groups overtime and both groups started mixing with each other heavily, just like how there is undeniably many assimiliated people in Anatolia who picked up the Turkish identity. Not to say the OG Turks don't exist, many of them exist in Anatolia (Esp on certain regions and cities) but there is also many assimiliated people who have no connections with Central Asians
