What does it do?
Escitalopram increases intrasynaptic levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin by blocking the reuptake of the neurotransmitter into the presynaptic neuron. Of the SSRIs currently available, escitalopram has the highest selectivity for the serotonin transporter (SERT) compared to the norepinephrine transporter (NET), making the side-effect profile relatively mild in comparison to less-selective SSRIs.

just fuck my brain up theory

most of the sides are serotonergic and not related to norep and stuff like that. i think youre right that escitalopram is the most targeted but it causes the most sides of the lot. the more mild end of the spectrum like sertaline are relatively safe but this one and paroxetine are pretty intense with devastating withdrawals. all in all different ssris work for different people but they all cause some pretty messed up sides and long term it looks like parkinsons and Alzheimers

I dont really feel anything when taking it. Like it doesnt work lmao. Maybe I need 1 more week for it to work. No side effects yet. Still have some depressive episodes at night. I appreciate your knowledge.
