Just watched it.

It's ok, but it looks a little fake and sci-fi-ish. Don't like the CGI either. It's basically for kids. The Gladiator battle scene is realistic. It's for mature men. I would imagine that's how that fight actually went down irl.

yeah gladiator is a lot more gritty and dark, lotr is more stereotypical hero and villain

but anything that is final stand stuff is glorious to me

It's a masterpiece, especially looking back at it now a quarter of a century later. I hate to use a cliche', but they really don't make movies like that anymore. The current generation of film makers and actors don't have the soul for it.

You should watch many of the battle scenes in this movie in surround sound. Really immersive. It's hard to stop watching them.

They're a reflection of the current generations, who are obsessed with woke nonsense and being politically correct. They basically make films as a vehicle to spread progressive propaganda, rather than focusing on making great art.
