So im gonna explain the type of users in .org and the few reason of why we are spending hours.
First off all let's look at the users.
1. A lifeless guy who hate comments every thread he sees for no reason and im sure there will be some here.

As u guys know there is post,rep, and ratio of both.
If u r grey basically u can't post something bcs always there will be some haters and if u r not a chill guy they even gonna make a thread ab u and whole site will jfl. I am a grey too for now but in knowledge im no down from u guys.
Anyways so if u have a high post and high rep u will be respected and in .org when u get respected it gives u serotonin and sometimes dopamine.
So u try to post more and etc after some time u get addicted not like alcohol addict it's better the way it's making u happy and this is called invisible addiction.
Also after u r in 2 or 5 k post u have a little friend circle around u so thats one more reason.
Also when u get a lot of reps or lots of comments it's the same, your brain secretes dopamine and serotonin so u log on more or spend hours bcs it feels great.
There is last few users: mods,wise guys and etc u got it.
REMINDER: THAT'S A STRONG THEORY NOT ALL OF U GUYS WILL AGREE BUT ATLEAST I EXPLAINED. HALF OF THIS THREAD IS SCIENCE PROVEN.

id argue there are a few other archetypes of users you didnt cover but overall it makes sense, you want status so you take the forum a bit more seriously to get higher posts and rep, then youre trapped in the cycle because you have friends who make you wanna stay and you feel like the forum has become such a big part of your free time
