Whene’er I passed her; but who passed without
Much the same smile?"
I think this like even though the poem was made in the 19th century, still applies to the modern day. Sure a women may treat you right when ur there, give u attention care a smile hug etc. But theres always a wonder, that she might do that with every man she passes no? The consequence of this in the next line literally is that he kills her because of this. And throughout the poem she showed signs of cheating.
