reminds me a lot of the will to power by Nietzsche. Basically everything that happens is a struggle for power if something good happens to you it has a cost.
the new job u get also means other don't get it, the pay rise etc. And that is the law of nature you have to fight for everything, its just less obvious in the world of the 21th century but it still determines everything
