As he tapped the end of recording button on his phone he caught a glimpse of himself in the reflection of the oven door. He turns into it, fixated and staring at himself, at who he had become. The emptiness he was trying to escape from comes rushing back into his body, his breaths get increasingly more shallow as his mind propels him back decades prior. Him staring out his childhood home window, longing for his father to come home. His mothers car turns into the driveway, he catches himself and dried the tears from his eyes and puts on a brave face. Catching his face once again staring back at him in the window, he vowed to never be like his father. To be the man that made his mother proud.
