Did you start at lowest concentration .025 and only apply a pea size amount 2-3 times per week? Did you apply moisturizer after? I had a gnarly breakout because I was slathering on .1% every night

Nah I'm applying it everyday and pea size amounts? im adding pea size amount to my forehead, both cheeks and chin

i guess i should reduce the dosage and frequency?

You're applying way too much and too frequently... pea size amount to cover your whole face and only apply at night every few days. Then wait 15 min and apply moisturizer

You gotta use it with clindamycin, dapsone, or take oral antibiotics.

My Curology custom formula has both Tret and clindamycin and I deal with zero breakouts. Running Tret alone is not a good idea.

Decrease the frequency. Apply it every other day in the night time, wait half an hour then apply your moisturizers. Trust me after the purging state ends your skin will improve boyo .

Your skin is drying out too quick and is producing more sebum than needed. You need to ease your way in with retinoids... Adapalene 0.1%, tret 0.025%, 0.05% then 0.1%. If you take tret indefinitely your skin will be great but it's probs a good idea to start out on Adapalene or 0.025% tret for atleast the first few months

A lot of people get this when they start even on low dose tret every other day. They refer to it as "the purge phase". Basically your skin will get worse before it gets better. Stick it out but go with 0.25% every second night at most for now and use a lot of oil free moisturiser. Also make sure you are using sunscreen during the day as your skin becomes more photosensitive on tret.

Maybe you’re going too hard in? At first I got flaky skin cuz I used a bit much and did it every day, but now I started out with once a week and a tiny amount like pea sized (which is the amount you should take for whole face) and slowly building myself up to now every other day and my skin reacts well. My skin seems better too. Tret is pretty powerful and just a pea size will do wonders
