The drone videos are insane and the crazy part is there is an endless amount of it.

Imagine barely being able to move with hypothermia while injured and a drone goes down to a few meters above you and drops a grenade right on your face and you have to throw it away but you don't have enough energy. Or looking up after getting peppered with shrapnel and seeing a drone filming you slowly die literally in 4k

There is a lot of cynical stuff going on both sides. The most successful military commanders there are being held back by top commandment so they won't become too popular and too powerful to be a danger for the current authority. Russian prisoners/criminals from Vagner were more successful than official military recently (probably due to less corrupt hierarchy), so their supplies were cut by official military. In Ukraine, few high government officials who were a kind of treat to Zelenskiy office mysteriously died in a helicopter crash, not at the front zone but in Kiev. Zaluzhny is also a kind of treat so Zelenskiy office tries to limit his powers so he won't become a potential candidate to Ukrainian presidency. P-in seems to value loyalty over efficiency so he gonna keep his commanders even when they fail.
Both sides have various corruption schemes to profit from military budget. At both sides, sons of officials are abroad/somewhere far from frontlines, and even if they are in military, they are kept safe in lowest risk zones with occasional publicity stunts. Both sides put low-class men into the meat grinder without mercy.
