Useless shit matter forms into consciousness into a doomed species, just for said individual to have their transient life be utter garbage due to literal nanometres of DNA + random spawn point before disintegrating into who knows what for however long.

Does having this worldview make you believe there isn't a god or does he put people through hardship to test if they keep faith in him like the story of job. edit: also satan is proclaimed as the ruler of earth in the bible so that would be the argument as to why people who are ugly get treated like shit.

Honestly I’m just an agnostic. I’ve tried to believe for a long time but never gotten over that hurdle.

I know it sounds like a troll/meme but the Old Testament God always made more sense to me. He deals in pacts and covenants, peoples and nations in order to produce an outcome. Lays down a set of rules and instructions that ought to be followed and doesn’t pretend like the material world is inherently corrupt

One thing about Christianity that never jived with me was the idea that different people live very different lives but are ultimately judged with the same yardstick regardless of the circumstances they were born into.

Compare that to say Judaism where the judgement for someone born into say Judaism is different from a non-Jew because there is an acknowledgement of different birth circumstances and conditions.

That being said I remain unconvinced in the truth claims. Even though I believe religion is a backbone to society and secularism/atheism will ultimately crumble in on itself or be replaced by some political ideology
