Thoughts on buying a slightly rusty car for big discount then fixing it myself?

Lurker
I'm looking at this car which is pretty good all around but it has some minor rust above back windscreen and around one of the wheel houses.

I can buy it for like 2.5k less than an other similar car and can possibly fix it myself for like 100 usd but thing is if it got rust outside chances are it got even more on the inside so might not be worth risk idk.

Thoughts?

I'm only buying it as a winter car so when i sell my motorcycle next year i'll sell it aswell and get a nicer one.

I'm thinking if i fix the rust i can sell it for more in spring.

yeah idk it might work out, just my dad always says if a car has rust it's basically over unless you're a welder.. don't know too much about cars tho really

What car is it ?

2007 e92 330i
It's worth the risk if it's just minor rust from the outside as it may be untouched inside due to high German engineering.

That cars a beast and a perfect first car at that price
