Your images are a bad representation of "Melanesian" phenos imo. Ignoring the fact that Melanesia is insanely diverse in phenos, using children is just misleading because their features are not fully developed. A lot of Melanesians have very robust features but you are obviously not going to see a pronounced supra orbital ridge or a tall chin on a child.
