Its an implant for women, quite effective as birth control.

One of my coworkers had it.

Its inserted inside your arm, Nexplanon continuously releases a low dose of a synthetic progestin called etonogestrel which prevents pregnancy by:

• Stopping your ovaries from releasing eggs
• Preventing sperm from reaching an egg
• Thinning the lining of your uterus

obviously, this comes with side effects like irregular menstrual bleeding, it also affects your ovulation cycle (no ovulating for the first 6 weeks) but its less hormone wrecking compared to the pill.
