Thoughts on this ortho plan for a narrow palate + left bite shift?
I formed a plan to fix my narrow palate, recessed mandible, and an asymmetric left bite shift.
Phase 1: Upper arch expansion (Schwarz/Haas) + MARA appliance to force the left side forward and get some CCW rotation.
Phase 2: Lower Schwarz/Lip bumper to fix lower crowding without extractions, then finish with braces.
Is a Schwarz expander and MARA actually going to give me real skeletal expansion and forward growth, or is this just cope and tooth-tipping? Has anyone successfully ascended with a MARA appliance?
Notes: My mandible’s asymmetry with my jaw isn't that bad, using Mara/Powerscope to fix them may not be necessary, but might be done.
I hope to get a cephalometric X-ray soon so an Orthodontist can properly see and address what needs to be changed, if it lines with what's in this guide it'll take about two years.
