Thread for those afraid of death...

I used to think the same. The hard problem of consciousness has made me think otherwise.

One of the theories of the far far future in a heat death scenario (if the big rip scenario isn't true, and I think evidence points to it not being that.) is that after arbitrarily long time, quantum fuctuations may occur to such an extent that they cause the spontaneous formation of a new universe. There isn't anything I know to substantiate if this is what will happen-- we're still not sure if proton decay will happen or not, and this would is so unlikely that it wouldn't happen for an inconceivable amount of time luckily, the universe will be cold and dark and empty and time will pass no matter what
You are right, but protons decaying doesn't change anything in the big picture other than delaying the heat death further past the black hole era (all that is "big" in the universe is left are supermassive blackholes that will evaporate due to Hawking radiation). The theory I was trying to point out was the fact that quantum mechanics doesn't work through the confides of the universe. Quantum fluctuations are what birthed the universe in the big bang, and in a state of maximum entropy and "nothingness", quantum fluctuations aren't doing anything to violate the laws of thermodynamics.

And the time of 10^10^56 would be a blink to us when we die. Time is a physical thing. When you go to sleep, "You" don't feel time physically, but your brain does. It has to feel time in order to feel rest and be repaired.

“Realize that "you" do not exist. There is no soul”

stopped reading at this dumbass shit

There seems to be a great body of evidence that souls can return and have another human life on Earth anytime it desires to. Reductive materialists seem to ignore this, that is the most important question in our lives: What happens when we die? Personally I have become convinced that we do not die, we simply shift consciousness.

did you ever stop to read my post? Please read carefully and then answer again. And im 5'11 nice way to try and circumvent the lack of real arguments.
shut up manlet

All that "you" are can be explained analogous to like a lightbulb creating light. Your brain starts working and "you" exist, just like the light coming from the bulb. When the power source ends, the light turns off, and "you" die. It's just a complex chemical manifestation, the human brain that is.

You are just a moist robot

Depends also currently on your happiness state
If you are happy you are more likely to be afraid then if you are depressed

Man im so afraid off getting old. Time has no mercy

Death and birth are the same.
