(first thread so be nice :Comfy:)

Some scientific studies show that cigarette smoking can raise testosterone in men, and that nicotine can have effects on the vascular function. Here’s how you can use cigarettes to your advantage, based on research plus how it could theoretically support testosterone and circulation

Testosterone-Related STUDIES
  • A large cross‑sectional study of over 2,000 men (from the Fangchenggang Male Health Survey) found that smokers had significantly higher total testosterone (TT) and free testosterone (FT) compared to non‑smokers, even after adjusting for age, BMI, and other factors.
  • In the Tromsø Study (3,427 men), researchers reported that smoking men had 15% higher total testosterone and 13% higher free testosterone than men who never smoked.
  • A meta‑analysis of 22 observational studies (13,317 men) found that, on average, smokers had higher testosterone than non‑smokers (mean difference ~1.53 nmol/L).
  • Mechanistic research suggests part of this effect comes from higher sex hormone–binding globulin (SHBG) in smokers: SHBG binds testosterone, but the increase seems to correspond with higher total testosterone measured in many smokers.
  • One possible explanation is that nicotine or its metabolite cotinine competes with the metabolism (glucuronidation) of androgens in the liver, slowing testosterone breakdown, which could raise circulating levels.
  • Another study found that the positive association between smoking and testosterone is stronger in middle-aged men (40–59), meaning the “test boost” might be more relevant for certain age groups.
Vascular Circulation Effects
  • Nicotine is a stimulant. It increases heart rate and stimulates adrenaline, which can temporarily improve blood flow and vascular tone. This might make someone feel more pumped or have a veiny dick while on their 4th pack.
  • Some studies suggest that smoking can affect blood pressure and alter vascular responsiveness. While jits say longterm effects are harmful, in the short term nicotine could create circulation.
  • Because of this vascular stimulation, some users might experience better pum” feeling in workouts or a sense of blood flow. (for my gymcels :feelspepo:)

Why These Effects Could Feel Like “Performance Gains”
  • The testosterone boost (even if modest) might enhance libido, mood, energy, and confidence.
  • Increased vascular tone + adrenaline could make exercise feel more intense.
  • The combination of mild hormonal boost + vascular stimulation may give a temporary sense of strength that smokers experience with.
  • One possible explanation is that nicotine or its metabolite cotinine competes with the metabolism (glucuronidation) of androgens in the liver, slowing testosterone breakdown, which could raise circulating levels.

continue smoking my nigga
