Newer models outperform even the top percentile of competitive programmers, so definitely yes. Learning as you go with concrete projects is the most straight-forward learning method these days, especially with powerful AI copilots available.

Ofc you should know the basics of the programming language itself, but ChatGPT can also help you learn those.
