Thumb pulling doesnt create enough pressure in order to split the mid palate will suture in order to wider your palate. the only way to do this is by orthodontics and using things like an MCE or a MARPE like. thumb pulling itself wont split the bone and widen the maxilla, since it requires months of constant hard pressure which thumb pulling cant do. you may feel a bit better after doing it or think u look better but its only the placebo effect and it doesnt change anything longterm. BUT if your thumbpulling to make soft tissue go up and make mewing easier then it is working but just mew normally and get used to it.

Obviously its cope with if it wasnt orthodontists would tell you to just thumb pull instead of giving you expensive palate expanders
