At this time reddit was just software engineers talking to each other and were very libertarian (they allowed jailbait/ sex with dogs etc). So it was very rational and everyone was “smart”
Then reddit grew larger and the userbase expanded so they banned all edgy stuff but the site culture stayed the smart stuck up way without the users actually being smart.
So now you have millions of retards on reddit thinking they’re geniuses based on the original ancient software engineer autists having rational discussions.
