Because hgh half life is 8 hours, if u take it 3 hours before sleep u will sleep well and the hgh will act upto 5 hours in ur sleep(5 hours is the growing time and REM time of sleep).
If u take it just before sleep,ur sleep can get disturbed.

I would say take 4 hours before sleep,not 3 hours
