TL;DR: Most women use Tinder not for dating or casual sex, but for confidence-boosting; men create hypergamy through being in the majority and casually liking most profiles; most couples who met online didn't meet through Tinder.
Most women aren't on Tinder. Only 7% of adult femals in the US are current users:
Only 7% of adult females are current users of Tinder, 60% have never used it (for adult men, 17% are current users and 47% have never used it).
However, the percentage of people who used Tinder are higher in the younger age range. Still, only 15% of all 18-29 year-olds (male or female) are current users of Tinder. The percentage is higher among 30-44 year-olds (male or female), where 19% are current users.

Men are not only the majority on Tinder, many report casually liking most profiles they see:
This is why Tinder is so hypergamous! Men are between 70-80% of users, that's already a big advantage for women. But on top of that, about 35% of male Tinder users report casually liking most profiles they see (probably including landwhales). On the other hand, women are far more picky, 91% say they only liked profiles they felt attracted to.

Most men and women won't meet anyone through Tinder:
70% of college students who used Tinder said they never met anyone through the app.
45% said they used Tinder for "confidence-boosting procrastination", 22% were looking for hook-ups, 4% were looking for relationships.

As a result, Tinder doesn't seem to have increased casual sex:
A study from Norway shows: 50% of Tinder users met someone through the app, 20% had sex with someone they met through Tinder, 5% had sex with more than one person they met from Tinder. This means: 80% of Tinder users never had sex with someone they met through Tinder, and only 5% have had sex with more than one person they met through Tinder.
More interesting: The vast majority (97-98%) who had sex with someone they met through Tinder achieved this by "traditional" dating methods as well. Casual sex didn't increase, dating apps simply have become a new way to meet partners, in addition to real-life methods.

Most couples who met online didn't meet through Tinder:
We all know that the most common way couples met today is online. According to a study from 2017, 39% of heterosexual couples in the US met online. But not all who met online met through dating apps, and not all who met through dating apps met through Tinder.
A survey from 2019 showed: 26% of all newlyweds met through online dating apps. From all the newlyweds who met online, 26% met through Tinder, 22% through Bumble, 12% through Hinge, 7% through OkCupid. This means: Probably only 10-20% of all couples who met online met through Tinder, or 3-5% of all couples out there.

Tinder Revenue and Usage Statistics (2024)
Tinder is a dating app that matches users to others based on geographic proximity. It designed (and patented) the swipe interface, in which a user swipes right to ‘like’ or left to ‘pass’. If two users both like each others, it’s a match, and they are then able to chat through the app. While...
