With artists in particular I sorta get it.

Music is very personal so if your favorite artist makes music you really love and relate to, the artist becomes more than just a musician but also somewhat of a therapist or friend.

It’s this odd parasocial relationship where you don’t want this person, who you feel you’re closer to because they’re not well-known drift away due to wide acclaim.

They lose this personal touch once they become A-listers or overly commercial.

a legitimate reason to gatekeep is if you think outside influences will debase and destroy something, especially due to commercializing forces. wymxn, faggots, and niggers in videogames seems to have been a bad influence, and now the only way a game development will be financed is if it passes dei/erg standards, contains non whites or homos, and promotes socially progressive causes.

rockstar game is a good example. they went from making apolitical action shooters to groveling at the feet of brown immigrants, to denouncing the southerners, bitching about kkk, to now worshipping trannies, homos, degenerate miami blacks, and criminal brown wymxn. most other prominent game development studios followed the same trend. fellating nigger dicks to get jew money so they can create this brainrot for pre teens:
