It’s because their neurotransmitters get nuked into oblivion growing up from all the validation that their life becomes pure torment unless they introduce extreme stimulation by doing things in the title. So if they cheat it’s not necessarily that they don’t feel guilty, but that even a negative emotion like guilt or pain is welcomed as a relief from the utter absence of stimuli brought upon by years of tutorial mode reducing their brains to mush. It’s a lot like how emos would cut their wrist "just to feel something".
