Here's how love/infatuation works in 99% of males:
1) Detect pretty girl (high facial symmetry and neoteny)
2) See no glaring defect (no missing limb or weird disease)
3) Secrete love hormones
4) Believe you're the only one to have sights on her (in reality, every pretty girl has dozens of orbiters / wannabe orbiters / ex-BFs / BFs / potential BFs hiding in the closet).
5) Wait it out or approach
No, you're not the only one who thinks Charlotte is cute. No, you're not the only one to have noticed her slightly imperfect nose and you're not the first one to think this defect means your chances with her are higher than expected. You're not the only one to look at her secretly and to fear seeing her with a BF one day. You're at least a dozen per girl. Wake up.
When I was in high school I used to naively think I was the only one to find a girl cute and adorable. In reality, they always ended up having at least three different boyfriends by the end of HS.
